  • Who can attend our courses?

    • Doctors, including non-U.K. trained
    • Surgeons and trainee surgeons
    • Dentists
    • General practitioners
    • Dermatologists
    • Ophthalmologists
(Physicians and surgeons can usually obtain considerably cheaper malpractice insurance through a specialist medical insurer, such as Hamilton Fraser, to perform medial aesthetic procedures such as botox, dermal fillers and chemical peels than through their own medical defence union e.g MDDS/MPS/MDU).

    • Registered Nurses

    • Professions allied to Medicine. e.g. paramedics, dental technicians (please confirm your eligibility to obtain medical malpractice insurers e.g. via Hamilton Fraser. Once approved, please forward your confirmation prior to booking onto a course).

    Do we train beauty therapists?

We are unable to train beauty therapists (even at NVQ level 3) to administer these aesthetic treatments. Even though you may be able to obtain training with other companies with less stringent admission criteria, you are unlikely to source the appropriate medications and equipment through reputable pharmacies, e.g Wigmore Pharmacy, and suppliers. Furthermore, most medical malpractice insurers will not insure beauty therapists to perform these procedures.

Do I need to bring proof of ID and professional body registration documents?

You will be required to bring your professional body registration documents (eg. PIN, GMC, GDC) and a form of photo ID (passport or work ID card) as proof of identity on the day of the course otherwise you may not be allowed to participate in the practical section. The course certificate may also be withheld until we receive confirmation by our administrative team after the course. We will also accept non-English documents but you will be required to provide an English translation, which has been signed and stamped by a professional person.

    General advice

As each course covers a considerable amount of information and involve fine manual dexterity during the practical session, it is advised for you to arrive promptly and not be lethargic at the start of the course. If you are unaware of the area, please factor the time needed to locate parking and the training location. Wearing comfortable loose clothes is preferable and they can be of a casual nature.

Will I get an opportunity to practise the actual aesthetic procedure during the course?

We actively encourage you to apply the technique to at least one model (your own or a willing delegate) as this will significantly reinforce the knowledge you will gain during the theory part of the course. There is an opportunity to perform the aesthetic procedure, under supervision of the tutors.  However, delegates can practise with a botulinum toxin or chemical peel substitute (i.e. water or saline) if they prefer as the technique will not be any different than using the actual substance.

What shall I do if I have a worry about a particular issue while attending the course?

If for any reason you are unhappy on how the course is progressing, please raise your concerns with the tutors and/or course facilitator at your earliest opportunity. It is far better to do this during the course, where there is often a simple solution, rather than after the course. All the tutors are approachable and accommodating. Their extensive experience in teaching allows them to appreciate that the requirement of delegates can be very different from each other. Also there is an opportunity to express your views in your feedback form, as we value and act upon your comments.

Do I get a course certificate?

Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance for each course, which is proof of attendance on the course. It does not equate to competence but is recognised by the main indemnity insurance companies. This will allow you to obtain such insurance in order to practise. (Please note, not all training courses are approved by these insurance companies). Our courses are recognised by the two largest malpractice insurance companies: Hamilton Fraser and CEART and we are supported by the relevant several aesthetic procedural companies.

Is it necessary to bring a model to practise?

We recommend that delegates bring a model to a course, which will ensure that you will have an opportunity to practise the demonstrated techniques and allow you to review the outcome of the treatments at a later date. However, if you are unable to bring one, it is very likely that there will be delegates that will act as volunteers for you to practise on. Personal experience of the treatments is encouraged as this will enhance your ability to discuss them with your future patients. They will also have greater confidence in you for doing so.

How many models can I bring?

We advise that each delegate only bring one model per course. The same model can be used for different courses, for example, one model can be used to practise the botox, dermal filler and/or chemical peel procedures.

The model should be generally fit and well and not be pregnant. They should also be forewarned of the treatments they are to undergo so they will not be unduly surprised, which then can lead to them declining the treatment. They should also have areas on their face that are suitable for these treatments, for example a woman in her early 20s is very unlikely to obtain any benefit from them.

Can the models attend the lectures and is lunch provided for them?

Due to space limitations in the lecture theatres and to help foster an open forum for discussion, models are not allowed to attend the theory part of each course. Although lunch is not provided for them, they will have access to drink refreshments, such as tea and coffee. We would advise that the models bring books or other items to help keep them accompanied during periods of waiting. Usually this is no more than 1.5 hours for each course. All the training locations have shops nearby where they can browse.

What happens once I have booked onto a course?

We will email you a receipt soon after payment has been received and processed. Approximately 1 week before the course, an information pack will be emailed to you, which contains details of the training location, timetable and general advice. It would be advisable to ensure that your email account accepts emails from our computers.

Why haven’t I received an email from you yet?

We aim to respond to email communications within 24 hours of receiving them. However, if after 72 hours, there is no reply in your in-box, please check your spam box. If it is not present there, then it is likely that your email filter has rejected our reply, even though it may not contain any malicious content. It is recommended that you make our email address as one of your "safe contacts" to prevent this from occurring or call one of our support staff.

Can you send me a brochure through the post?

Following feedback from our delegates and consistent with current working practices, we will no longer be posting printed brochures when requested. Considerable amount of information regarding our courses can be found on our website such as dates, prices, training locations and much more. It is regularly reviewed and updated.
